We took one of the world's most recorded drummers and accurately extracted his feel from an acoustic recording session. The advantage of this is that you have access to extremely high quality midi files that accurately capture the groove of a world class drummer. Purdie did not play on drum pads to generate these midi files because they don't translate the subtle timing and feel that real drum heads give.
Bernard Purdie has recorded albums with Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon,The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, Jeff Beck, Frank Sinatra,Ray Charles, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Miles Davis, Isacc Hayes, Bob Marley and over 4000 others.He is by far the most recorded drummer in history.
A jazz based sampling CD with a good selection Swing, Latin and Funk/Acid Jazz midi files. The original drum performance that the midi files are based on are by drummer Bernard Purdie.
The CD contains over 500 midi files that includes a useful selection of jazz/funk drum patterns. The tempos range from 68-188 BPM. Kickin Jazz also include some classic jazz grooves in 3/4 and 6/8 and 5/4 as well as funky 2 bar 4/4 grooves -- with feel !
This CD is unique because it has very high quality midi files based on the exact acoustic performance. No drum pads were used in the original session - our approach creates a more accurate midi file.
