How reverberation impulses are created

Here is a slow string piece using Garritan Personal Orchestra

First dry (no reverb) SlowStrings_GPO_Dry.mp3

Here are several examples with different Hollywood Impulse Responses mixed in - note how the timbre changes and adds incredible fullness and definition as well as reverberation to the overall sound. No EQ was uses on any of the demos in these or any other examples on this web page. Only wet levels were mixed in with the dry signal - that's all !

All the demos use the first reverberation from HIR called "Small Sound Stage". Each instrument has 5 demo variations.

An Electric Guitar Example from the sampling CD Kickin Jazz Note that the impulse lenght was shortened from the original 4 second hall to a 0.77 second room (easy to do with most convolution programs). This was done in Logic's Space Designer.
